The vision at Hungry For Life is that we envision Thriving Global Communities. This is the goal, top of the mountain, north star, vision that we work every day to see become a reality. And the most beautiful part is that we actually get to see this being accomplished. We see thriving happening around the world, in communities big and small. For some that looks like people in their village becoming followers of Jesus, for others it's breaking pieces of poverty because of a micro loan business opportunity or employment offers, it might look like seeing thousands of kids around the world having access to education, or feeding programs for many families, or leaders learning how to grow and develop in their leadership. We see this in our Canadian partners too, groups coming together to plan and fundraise for projects thousands of miles away, groups building and activating their faith by going on short term missions trips, growing in perspective and insight as we work with partners from different cultures and contexts. We have seen and heard stories of lives transformed in working with our partners here in Canada and around the globe.

The fact that this happens is amazing and beautiful and the answers to many many prayers, but in being honest, the journey to see this beautiful vision come to life is not always all that glamours. Our staff work many hours sitting at desks and behind computers, ensuring we have all the reporting documentation, donations processed, updates given, impact stories edited and posted, partners communicated with, team flights and travel booked, and so many more pieces. We love our jobs because we get to see the impact of groups across Canada engaged with international partners but it takes a lot of facilitating and administrative power to see it become a reality.

Thats where Operations comes in. Since day 1 HFL has been committed to financial transparency through the 100% model- meaning 100% of funds that are designated for projects go directly there. Our staff raise support for their salaries to ensure this happens and we fundraise for operations separately.

One way we fundraise for Ops is through our Annual Fundraiser Gala. On November 15th we are inviting you to Picture This, what does thriving global communities look like and how can you be a part of seeing that vision be a reality? Operations is vital to seeing any of the projects and partnerships take place. Fuelling HFL operations multiplies your investment because when we have Ops support we can do much more in engaging groups and partners.

The Fundraiser is a fun night, where you can dress up and enjoy an evening out. This year we are serving some delicious tapas and you can shop our silent auction that has some incredible items! We will have a time of celebrating what God has done this year and share our vision for what God wants to continue doing through HFL.
